I am still amazed at the changes many of my clients have made right from the comforts of their own homes, dorm rooms, offices and even hotel rooms doing hypnosis with me over the Internet. I am often asked why hypnosis is equally as effective over the Internet using video communications tools like Skype or Zoom as it is in a face-to-face visit in my office.
The answer is simple: Hypnosis works because of a focused state of concentration and being guided by my voice or in the case of self-hypnosis, guided by your own suggestions.
This can be accomplished in person, over the phone, using Facetime or over the Internet. Your ability to follow instructions and use your imagination is all that is needed to achieve a state of hypnotic trance that will allow you to reprogram your subconscious for rapid change.
This is where the magic happens in the subconscious mind.
Your conscious mind is critical and negates why something can and cannot happen. By putting the conscious mind on hold and speaking directly to the unconscious mind, rapid change can take place.
I have helped people in about every state in the U.S. and many other countries using hypnosis through both video conferencing tools like Skype and Zoom. Some have even coined the phrase “Skypenosis” to describe it.
Tele-hypnosis Works
A few years ago, I had a woman from my own state of Connecticut use tele-hypnosis to stop smoking for good. She was a shut-in and had no way to get to my office, so we did hypnosis for her to stop smoking for good using hypnosis over the Internet. She remains a non-smoker.
In addition, some people prefer the safety and privacy of their own surroundings to do hypnosis in their own home. This is a benefit because you can become more relaxed when you feel safe. I have recently been working with many younger people directly from their dorm rooms and have been helping them reduce their anxiety, panic attacks, and increase their self-confidence and self-esteem to help make the transition to college much easier.
Hypnosis is also very effective prior to sleep. Many of my client’s report sleeping better and waking feeling more refreshed in the morning after hypnosis. This is especially helpful to my clients with insomnia or racing minds that keep them awake. Hypnosis prior to sleep helps the suggestions to be uploaded like software onto a computer while you sleep. The 5 minutes before you fall asleep is the most important time of your day to reprogram your subconscious mind. The problem is that most of us use that time to reflect on the many negative thoughts’ feelings and emotions of the day. Often reliving arguments that have not even occurred yet.
I recently worked with a D1 baseball player from another state who was suffering from a case of the YIPS. Yips often happens to baseball players and golfers. It often appears as wild pitches or crazy swings of the golf clubs for no apparent reason. Yips is a subconscious issue and responds very well to hypnosis. His yips went away, and he is now pitching as well as he used to.
Hypnosis works for so many issues like test-taking anxiety, sports performance, weight management, smoking cessation and phobias and fears…there are too many to mention.
